Text art saying "THE conversation PRIVILEGE".

THE PRIVILEGE CONVERSATION Seminar Sessions

'The Privilege Conversation' is a safe space, a guided mentor / mentee journey that emphasizes personal, accountable, and transformational learning instead of passive education. All participants who have registered for this Indigenous engagement training e-course will gain access to the Privilege Conversation sessions.

True Indigenous engagement can't be fully captured in textbooks — it is experienced through conversation, respect, and the sharing of knowledge.

'I did not know so how it be my fault?'

This is a very common response from Canadians discussing Indigenous issues. Moving forward in reconciliation through Indigenous engagement training does not include fault, shame, blame, guilt, or animosity. True reconciliation involves acknowledgment, respect, and accountability. This comment is discussed at the beginning of the mentor-mentee journey and then laid to rest. The primary objective of Colonizer Rehab is to eliminate the fear surrounding Aboriginal peoples, as fear remains a significant obstacle to reconciliation. Online Indigenous training can play a pivotal role in this process.

"Why can't we just leave the past behind and move on?"

This is a common question, but unresolved issues do not disappear with time. Treaties and other agreements exist to address difficult matters such as land, historical grievances, cultural loss, language, and the lasting impacts of colonization. Engaging in online Indigenous training can help facilitate this understanding through proper Indigenous engagement training programs that are crucial for fostering awareness.

Those who have not experienced these realities firsthand may underestimate their significance, making the question easy to ask but difficult to answer. The mentor-mentee journey can also provide valuable insights into these issues through personal experiences and shared knowledge.

There is a path forward. It begins with the courage to understand the truth, engage in honest conversations, and work together toward lasting solutions.

No topic is off-limits in our online Indigenous training. The only rule is to be respectful.
