Canada's colonization history, including the federal Indian Act, the Indian Reserve System, and the Indian Residential School System and impacts to First Nation Indian reserve communities.
Common misconceptions that non-Indigenous peoples may hold regarding Indigenous peoples.
Clarification of commonly misunderstood such as status Indian, Native, Aboriginal, Indigenous, Métis, Inuit, and First Nation.
Why so many Indigenous relations and reconciliation departments, ministries, agencies, and commissions across the country?
Why reconciliation seemingly moves so slow and what are some barriers?
What are the THREE Indigenous categories relevant to reconciliation?
Clarification of pretendianism, Indigenous identity fraud, and tokenism and relevance to National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
