Training style, delivery & format

Indigenous Insight's training prioritizes 'truth' over political correctness, aligning with the 'truth' part of Canada's Truth and Reconciliation framework. Every non-Indigenous learner will start their critical thinking journey with following key aspects:

Canada's colonization history (Indian Act, Indian Reserve System, Indian Residential School System; Unmarked Grave issues (and denialism). The main reason for this simply put is Canada's education system has consistently failed Indigenous peoples these past many decades
Truth & reality first, then possibly reconciliation
Canada's 'land question' including Aboriginal rights and title, treaty negotiations and crown land development within provincial crown land
Band Office as an Institution (specifically differences between First Nation Indian Reserve communities and non-Indigenous cities, towns, municipalities)
Commonly held misconceptions clarified

All training sessions supported by PREZI software and short online surveys. All training sessions align with content contained in the Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training Backgrounder (ICATB).

ZOOM Videoconferencing

While videoconference sessions can never fully match the effectiveness of in-person, face-to-face interactions, Indigenous Insight, aware of the complex nature of the Indigenous engagement space, has always been committed to offering videoconference sessions that go beyond simply reading material.
